What is acai berry? This is not an uncommon question these days as much media attention has been given to this little-known fruit from Brazil – the acai (pronounced ah-sah-ee) berry. Despite all the media coverage however, it’s important that you do some homework yourself before even considering buying a product, especially one that goes inside the body. Don’t be like some consumers who just go with the fad and end up getting scammed.

What on earth is this berry?

It is a grape-sized fruit found on acai palms throughout Central and South America. The fruit makes up no more than one quarter the volume of the berry. The rest of the berry is a large seed.
